[0:00] Oblique projection is a simple way to draw a three-dimensional object on flat paper. [0:40] The front face is drawn true to its real shape and size, so all its detail is clear. [1:20] Depth lines are then drawn at an angle, usually 45 degrees, to give the sense of 3D. [2:00] In cavalier projection the depth is full size; in cabinet projection it is half size and looks more realistic. [2:40] Designers, engineers and architects use oblique drawings for quick, clear technical sketches.
