[0:00] Forces deep inside the earth slowly reshape its surface through movements we call internal land-forming processes.
[0:40] The continental drift theory says the continents once formed a single mass and have since drifted apart.
[1:20] The plate tectonic theory explains this drift: the earth's crust is broken into huge plates that move.
[2:05] When the crust cracks and blocks shift up or down, we call it faulting, which can form valleys and escarpments.
[2:45] Kenya's Great Rift Valley formed through faulting and gives us lakes, fertile soils and geothermal energy.
