Principles of Dharma

Dharma is a fundamental concept in Indian religions, often translated as 'duty,' 'righteousness,' 'cosmic law,' or 'one's true nature.' It encompasses the principles that uphold order and harmony in the universe and in individual lives. ▸ Sikh Principles of Dharma — In Sikhism, Dharma is often understood through three core pillars that guide a righteous life: Nam Japna (meditation on God's name), Kirat Karni (honest living), and Vand ke Chhakna (sharing with others). Example: Practicing compassion, truthfulness, and humility are integral to living a life of Dharma. These principles encourage individuals to live ethically, contribute positively to society, and maintain a strong connection with the divine. They are not just abstract ideas but practical guidelines for daily living.
