[0:00] Three powerful ideas guide Hindu ethics: dharma, karma and moksha. Together they form a path for living well and growing spiritually. [0:50] Dharma means your righteous duty, the right way to act for your role and situation. A student's dharma includes honest study; a parent's dharma includes caring for the family. [1:45] Karma is the law of action and consequence. Good, kind actions tend to bring good results, while harmful actions bring difficulty, like seeds producing the plant of their kind. [2:40] Hindus believe the soul passes through many lives in a cycle called samsara, and karma influences each new life. [3:30] Moksha is the final goal: liberation, when the soul is freed from the cycle of rebirth and united with the Supreme Reality. [4:20] Remember: do your dharma, build good karma, and aim toward moksha. These ideas encourage responsibility every single day.
