[0:00] In our last lesson we learned that Paramatma is one. Today we see how that one reality is honoured through many deities, each representing a special quality.
[0:50] Vishnu is honoured as the preserver who protects order in the world. Shiva represents transformation and renewal. Brahma is associated with creation.
[1:40] Goddesses are equally important. Lakshmi is linked with prosperity and well-being, Saraswati with knowledge and the arts, and Durga with courage and protection.
[2:30] A murti is a carefully made sacred image used in worship. It is not the deity itself; it is a focus point that helps the mind settle and the heart become devoted.
[3:20] Each deity teaches a value. Ganesha, remover of obstacles, reminds learners to begin tasks with courage and wisdom, useful before a Grade 9 examination.
[4:05] Key idea: worshipping many forms is a way of honouring the qualities of the one Supreme Reality, not a belief in many separate ultimate powers.
