[0:00] Shariah means the path or way of life given by God to guide Muslims in worship and in their dealings with others. [0:40] The main sources of Shariah are the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet, supported by the agreement of scholars and careful reasoning. [1:25] Shariah covers acts of worship such as prayer, fasting and charity, as well as honesty in trade, kindness to family and care for the community. [2:15] Its purpose is to protect faith, life, intellect, family and property, leading to a just and peaceful society. [3:00] When we follow Shariah we are not just keeping rules; we are choosing a balanced way of living that benefits ourselves and others.
