Example: The word 'vocation' comes from the Latin 'vocare' (to call). Luther distinguished between the primary calling (to follow Christ) and secondary callings (roles like parent, student, farmer, teacher). All are holy when done faithfully.
Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us: 'Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters...' This means our ultimate audience is God, giving our work infinite dignity, even if humans don't recognize it.
