The Bible begins by showing us God actively working. Before anything existed, God spoke light into darkness, separated waters, and formed the earth. This wasn't a sudden event, but a progressive, purposeful, and creative process over six days. This pattern of work is designed for us to follow.

The Fall in Genesis 3 introduced hardship and toil into work, but it did not make work itself bad. Christ's redemption offers the hope of restoring the original dignity and joy of work.
