[0:00] Today we study two famous kings of Israel, David and Solomon, and what their lives teach about leadership. [0:40] Before kings, Israel was led by judges. The people then asked for a king, and after King Saul, David became king. [1:25] David was a courageous and faithful leader, remembered for trusting God and for uniting the nation, though he also made serious mistakes and repented. [2:10] Solomon, David's son, was famous for great wisdom and for building the temple in Jerusalem, a central place of worship. [2:55] Yet Solomon's later years showed failures, including heavy taxes and turning away in his devotion, which weakened the kingdom. [3:40] From both kings we learn that good leaders need wisdom, humility, justice, and a willingness to admit and correct their mistakes.
