Components of Creative Arts and Sports

Creative arts and sports are built on several key components that help us learn and grow. ▸ Fitness — The condition of being physically fit and healthy. Example: Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate rest contribute to fitness. ▸ Play Elements — The fundamental aspects of play that make it enjoyable and beneficial, such as rules, challenges, and social interaction. Example: In a game of football, the rules, the competition, and playing with friends are key play elements. ▸ Music Notation — A system of writing music using symbols to represent pitch, rhythm, and other musical elements. Example: Notes, rests, and clefs are examples of music notation. ✎ Activity: Discuss in small groups: How do fitness and play elements work together in sports like basketball or rugby? • Complete the activity described and discuss your answer with a partner or teacher. Expected outcome: Learners can explain what they practised and connect it to the lesson objective.
