[0:00] A mosaic is artwork made by fitting together many small pieces of coloured glass, stone, tile or other materials. [0:40] Each small piece is called a tessera; many tesserae together form a larger image or pattern. [1:20] Common materials include coloured tiles, glass, pebbles and seeds, fixed with glue or cement onto a base board. [2:00] Useful tools include tile nippers to cut pieces, a base board, adhesive and grout to fill the gaps. [2:40] Work carefully when cutting, plan your pattern first, then place, glue and finally grout for a strong finished piece.

Plays from this package with no internet. Subtitles are on; the 🔊 Listen button also reads the lesson aloud.
