[0:00] Flowers are the reproductive organs of many plants. They contain the male and female parts needed to make seeds.
[0:45] The male part is the stamen, made of the anther and filament. The anther produces pollen grains.
[1:30] The female part is the pistil, made of the stigma, style and ovary. The ovary holds the ovules.
[2:20] Pollination is the transfer of pollen from anther to stigma. It can be self-pollination within one flower or cross-pollination between flowers, carried by wind, insects, water or birds.
[3:10] After fertilisation, the ovule becomes a seed and the ovary grows into a fruit that protects the seed and helps it spread.
