[0:00] Probability measures how likely an event is to happen, on a scale from zero to one. [0:45] A probability of zero means impossible, and a probability of one means certain. [1:30] For equally likely outcomes, probability is the number of favourable outcomes over the total outcomes. [2:15] Tossing a fair coin gives a probability of one half for heads, since one of two outcomes is favourable. [3:00] Understanding probability helps us judge risk, play fair games, and read weather forecasts.
