[0:00] Volume is the amount of space a solid occupies, measured in cubic units.
[0:40] For any prism the volume is the area of the cross section multiplied by the length.
[1:25] A cylinder is a circular prism, so its volume is pi r squared times the height.
[2:10] A pyramid or cone holds one third of the prism or cylinder that shares its base and height.
[2:55] Capacity is how much liquid a container holds, and one thousand cubic centimetres equals one litre.
