[0:00] A linear equation has the unknown to the first power only, like 2x plus three equals eleven.
[0:40] We solve by doing the same operation to both sides until the unknown stands alone.
[1:25] The gradient of a line measures its steepness: change in y divided by change in x between two points.
[2:10] The equation y equals m x plus c tells us the gradient m and where the line crosses the y axis, which is c.
[2:55] A positive gradient rises to the right; a negative gradient falls to the right.
