[0:00] Tense tells us when an action happens. The simple present is for habits and facts, the simple past for finished actions, and the future for what will happen.
[0:50] For example: 'I walk to school every day' is present, 'I walked yesterday' is past, and 'I will walk tomorrow' is future. Notice how the verb changes.
[1:40] Subject-verb agreement means the verb must match the subject. A singular subject takes a singular verb: 'The boy plays', but 'The boys play'.
[2:30] Punctuation guides the reader. A full stop ends a statement, a question mark ends a question, and commas separate items in a list.
[3:20] The apostrophe shows possession, as in 'Achieng's book', or marks a missing letter in a contraction, as in 'do not' becoming 'don't'. Small marks, big difference.
